If that post-workout hunger is hitting you hard, then we have you sorted! These are some of our favourite cafés and restaurants close to your Gfitness gym in Rhodes or Freshwater where you can find healthy, nutritious treats. Check these Sydney options out and treat yourself to something tasty without undoing all that hard work you put in at the gym.
Auvers
2/42 Walker St, Rhodes
Auvers’ creative surroundings take inspiration from the home of painter Vincent van Gogh, and every meal and drink that comes to your table here is really a colourful work of art in itself. Think along the lines of coconut taro Bircher muesli, smashed avo or delicious corn fritters for a healthy dose of vitamins and protein after your morning workout session. We also love their fresh juices, cold brew coffee and herbal teas.
Albert & Moore
2D/2 Moore Rd, Freshwater
Make your way to Albert & Moore for fresh lunches with plenty of gluten free, vego and vegan options. Their Green Goodness bowl includes kale, quinoa and grilled haloumi so you can indulge without the guilt, while their salmon stack with avocado and rocket will meet all of your protein requirements. Bircher muesli, yoghurt bowls, acai bowls and fruit plates are also on the menu.
Soul Origin
Rhodes Waterside Shopping Centre
Sure, it might be in a shopping centre, but if you’re after quick and fresh sandwiches, wraps and paninis that are designed with health and nutrition in mind then Soul Origin can be a great option. Their gourmet salad selection has plenty of smart options including grilled chicken, brown rice and barley to keep you fuelled up for the day.
Little Collins
Shop 3/6-8 Lawrence St, Freshwater
When salmon, eggs and sourdough toast feature heavily on the menu you know you’re onto a winner! Head to Little Collins for their iconic Collins Bowl or their vivid green smashed peas on sourdough with parmesan crisps, with a great coffee in hand. A side note – although their hot cakes aren’t technically super healthy, they are colourful and delicious…
Sushi Hiro
19A Lawrence St, Freshwater
Sushi can be a great lunch to follow exercise thanks to its healthy fats and low GI carbs. We really like Sushi Hiro’s fresh Japanese options including bento boxes, steamed gyoza and green tea noodles and salad. Everything is reasonably priced here and takeaway is available too – perfect if you’re ready to hit the couch after that intense weights session.
